No more IV"s...........
We went to the doctors today and Mark is now on oral antibiotics.......maybe for a long time depending on how his body does with all the hardware. The central IV line had to be taken out a the Hospital by a doctor. Thank goodness that we were there for a very short time. Long enough to get the procedure done and we had to visit the wonderful nurses and doctors in the ICU and SIMU unit that Mark spent so much time in. It was such a pleasure to see their faces as the recognized us, and for them to see Mark walking. We Thanked them and we Thank God for the skill that every one of them has. As you all know that they took wonderful care of Mark. God works miracles each and every day!!!! Betty

Betty and Mark,
Great news! Now that they've switched you from IV to oral antibiotics maybe those awful, awful headaches will stop. I know it must be frustrating, you have to have the antibiotics to get well but then the side-effects kick in and make you feel worse.
For tomorrow -- HAPPY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO A WONDERFUL COUPLE!!! (October 17) Not sure how many years, but it is so great that y'all have stayed together all this time. In this day and age that is just another miracle to add to your list! A long distance hug for each of you.
Love, Janet (cousin)

YAY!!!! No IV's! I was so glad to hear this from Mom last night! Sorry again I missed you guys when you were in the medical center. I can't wait to see you I miss you both!
Yes, as Janet mentioned, tomorrow is Mom and Dad's anniversary - I am pretty sure it is 26 years this year? Because I am 24 and they were married over a year before I came along....
Words can't describe how proud I am of the both of them. As I prepare to enter marriage in only a few short months... I am so happy to have such an example of what true love really is in front of me. These two people are not only my parents, but my friends. The love they have for one another has been tested through the years, and they have never given up. They have always been ones to be affectionate and loving. But after all this, it is different. Loving each other through kindness and actions. Mom caring for Dad, loving on him day in and day out. She never seems to get tired of loving him --- but who can blame her. Her jobs as a mother and wife have been stretched to new limits, yet she accomodates to the situation, and makes the best of it. Her strength in all this is inspiring - really. And every single time I talk to Dad he mentions how wonderful she is, how he wouldn't be able to make it without her and all she has done.
I just think it is beautiful, and to love each other as much as they do after 26 years tomorrow! What an amazing blessed thing!!!
Congratulations you two. You have alot to celebrate, alot to be thankful for. I know you probably won't do anything fancy tomorrow, but just remember what you've gone through this year and all the other years and be proud! Love is a choice, and you two chose to love each other all these days despite everything that has come your way! I love you guys so much!
Love Meg
