Guys ---
I am not really sure what to write in here right now. I feel like a mess of emotions.
Dad went to the soccer game yesterday and got light headed and his arm got numb. They called an ambulance and he was rushed to the hospital. Today, they are pretty sure he had a stroke.
He has not good use of his left arm and is having some vision problems. I think we are lucky now. They are watching him and are going to tranfer him back to Hermann tomorrow for lots of tests and to meet with cardiologists and neurologists. They aren't sure if this was a pre-existing condition that may have been exacerbated by something else --- the heat, the lack of his blood clot medication since he's been out of the hospital --- we just don't know.
A stroke is a very scary thing. I just don't even know what to think right now. I am just on my knees, praying for the Lord to bring him through all of this too. I am scared of him having another stroke, because I know that after you have one your risk for subsequent incidents is very high.
Please say some extra prayers. Sheryl Jamail, a very well known person in our Crosby community, had a stroke this last week. Hers was worse than Dad's and was said to be caused by a blood clot. Please say some prayers for her and her family today as well. They could definitely use some extra prayers from anyone that can.
Thank you so much. Love you all. I will write more when I know more
Love Meg

Oh Megan, thanks for letting us know about your Dad. I am so sorry to hear about this stroke, especially with left sided problems since Mark is left handed. We were all so delighted to have him out of the hospital; even though it was for a short time at least he experienced the joy of being at home, seeing family, friends and the great outdoors before he had to go back to the hospital. Hopefully that has helped him build up his strength to better cope with this new hospital stay. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love, Cousin Janet
We are praying for your Dad and the rest of your family, I sent out an email to our church already so they will be praying also, everyone was so excited this morning when we told them Mark was home, they have all been praying for him. Let us know how he is doing. Love and prayers, Sallie, Scott & Noah Keaton
Hey guys, here it is Wednesday and no news since Sunday. My Bradley anxiety gene is acting up. Hate being a worry wart, but really wondering how Mark is doing. Could you please share any news? Thanks.
Love, Cousin Janet
Yeah, what Janet said!
(Except for the Bradley gene thing!)
Hoping no news is good news! Mark, you got to get better and get back home so I can come help you with that puzzle!
Love, Sheryl
Okay, I know, I know "patience is a virtue". If I had just waited an hour or so I would have gotten an answer. (Sheryl, glad to know I was not the only one who kept checking for updates and wondering what was happening.)
NEWS: To let y'all know -- I just talked to Wayman on the phone and he says Mark did have a "slight stroke" and it looks like he will be discharged from the hospital this afternoon.
Love, Cousin Janet
