Surgery went well yesterday. Talking to the thoracic surgeon, he showed us before and after pictures of his lung cavity. He has three tubes now draining from his lung cavity and the doctor said these should be draining for 7-10 days.
This frustrated us because we were like great now this pushes his other surgery back again. Nope... orthopedics came in yesterday to look at him and fit him on the schedule for today.
Please say lots of prayers. This surgery does carry a lot of risk - especially in the possibility of losing a lot of blood.
We love you all and we will keep you posted today the best we can.
Forgive me for not writing yesterday...I was so tired.
Love Meg

Betty and Meg,
While we can't be there with you in person, we are there in spirit and praying along with you. Just wish we could do more to help take away some of the burden you all are under.
Love, Janet (Mark's cousin)
Betty and Meg,
I am so glad the surgery went well, and I know that the second surgery will be just as successful. Once they get Mark fixed up, he will surely be on the road to recovery. Megan thanks so much for the updates, we all appreciated it. Give everyone hugs and kisses for me and our love. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Marlies and family

Glad the surgery went ok yesterday and I know this one today will go ok and he can start on his road recovery so we can go deer hunting again. I check the blog every couple of hours to get the newest updates as I am sure everyone else does also.
The blog is great so keep it up to date when you get the time. We all worry about Mark and how he is doing. God bless to all.
Love, Larry Don (cousin)
I am praying that Mark's surgery is going well today! I want to thank you for keeping us up-to-date through the blog. I wish I could have been with Janet & Karen last week when they got to go see you guys. I had already promised Shannon (our youngest son) and his wife that we would babysit while he went to a teachers conference in Austin. However, John and I will be in the area in 6 weeks and we will come to see Mark then. You are in our thoughts and prayers constantly. Again, thanks for the daily blog updates! Love you guys, Kay (Mark's cousin)
