Sunday Morning

Yesterday they started taking Mark of his Propofol which was causing his yellow color and started him on Valium. As the night wore on he became more agitated and his ICB(skull pressure) became elevated. They are taking him off of the Fentany (sedative) and just putting him on straight Morphine. The doctors from neurosurgery came in the morning and want him to be transferred to their unit so they can do more advanced care but there are no beds available at this time. His blood pressure is 178/91, his pules is 95, and his temperature is 99.5. So guys, the prayers for today is that someone in SNICU is transferred out to a room and a bed opens up.

Thanks and we love you guys!!

Betty,

So hope another patient can get better quickly so they can give their bed to Mark in SNICU. Bless his heart, wish there was some way to help him with his fight to get better. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could somehow project images to his brain of pleasant things so as to ease the pain of this injury? This morning I watched the doe and fawn playing at the feeder and wished that the image of the fawn galloping around and playing could somehow be sent to Mark. He would so enjoy watching that baby racing around so fast, as if it wanted to break the sound barrier and then forgetting how to put on the brakes and almost colliding with it's mom! It still has its spots and is all legs but sure can run.

Please take good care of yourself and know we are all thinking of you and praying.

Love, Janet

Betty,

I go to this site every day to check on Mark's progress. Thank you for taking the time to post updates for all of us.

I know Mark's a fighter and he's going to pull through this. What a testimony he'll have!!

If there's anything I can do, PLEASE call. If I can clean your house, or make dinner for your kids, grocery shop or take
Matt for a couple of days....whatever you need. I wish I could do more. I continue to pray and that's probably the best thing anyway, but you know we all wish we could do more.

Your family sounds amazing. Very strong and connected. It's what will make Mark's recovery easier.

I'd like to leave you with this thought..."I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord; plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." It is my favorite scripture and to me it speaks volumes for this situation. God has a plan and His timing is perfect. He is your hope through all obstacles. I pray you find comfort in His mercy and grace. It is evident to me that He has Mark in His hands. Take care, Sheryl Malek

After seeing Mark today, I truly believe that he will recover. He is a very strong man and has wonderful support from you and the kids. He is the best neighbor anyone could ask for and never hesitated to help me when I neeed it. Please do not hesitate to ask me for anything. I am here for you, Mark, the girls and Matt.

When I got home today your grass had been mowed. The kids think Papa Joe did it. Kallie and Gidget really appreciated the short grass. I spent some extra time with them this afternoon and gave them extra attention as they are missing their mom. Please do not worry about the dogs and cats as the kids love taking care of them. Call me if you need anything.
